Privacy Policy
Mark Ellis Woodworking | Effective and last updated: October 2026
This policy explains what information is collected when you visit this website (the "Site"), how it's used, and the choices you have. "We," "us" and "our" mean Mark Ellis Woodworking.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. If you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address and message so we can reply.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the Site and its service providers may automatically collect technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, the referring page, the date and time of your visit, and whether you clicked an outbound link. Some of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies.
We don't knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and we don't sell your personal information.
2. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We and our partners use them to:
- make the Site work and remember basic preferences;
- understand how visitors use the Site (analytics);
- measure the results of our advertising; and
- track affiliate referrals so commissions can be credited.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some features may not work properly without them.
3. Google Ads and analytics
We advertise using Google Ads, and we may use Google analytics and conversion tracking tools. These tools may place cookies or use similar identifiers to measure ad clicks, page visits and actions taken after a click. Google processes this information under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). You can manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).
4. ClickMagick click tracking
We use ClickMagick, a link-tracking service, to measure which ads and links send visitors to the Site and to the offers we link to. When you click a tracked link, ClickMagick may record your IP address, browser and device details, referring page, campaign identifiers and the time of the click, and may set cookies. We use this information only to measure and improve our marketing. ClickMagick processes data under its own privacy policy.
5. ClickBank affiliate links
Some links on the Site are affiliate links to products sold through ClickBank. When you click one, you leave our Site, and ClickBank and the product vendor may set cookies to credit the referral to us. If you make a purchase, the transaction is handled by ClickBank as the retailer. We don't receive your payment card details. ClickBank's and the vendor's privacy policies apply to information you give them.
6. How we use information
We use information to:
- respond to your messages;
- operate, maintain and improve the Site;
- measure the performance of our content, ads and links;
- detect and prevent abuse, spam and misuse of the Site; and
- meet legal obligations.
7. Sharing
We share information only with service providers who help us run the Site (hosting, page building, analytics, advertising and click tracking), with affiliate networks as described above, or when the law requires it. These providers may process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws.
8. Retention
We keep contact form messages only as long as we need them to respond and keep reasonable records. We keep analytics and tracking data for as long as our providers' standard settings allow, or as long as it's needed for the purposes above.
9. Your rights
Canada (PIPEDA). Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, you may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and withdraw consent to further collection or use, subject to legal and contractual limits. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
Other locations. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as the right to delete your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, to data portability, or to opt out of targeted advertising. Contact us to make a request and we'll respond as the law where you live requires.
10. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information. No website or transmission method is completely secure, though, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
11. Children
The Site is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region), and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
12. Third-party sites
The Site links to other websites, including vendor and ClickBank pages. We're not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their policies.
13. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when it was last changed.
